I Got A Brand New Bag
Last night I went down to the Art Institute to attend the AIGA Design Week DC Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag event, hosted by Ellen Lupton. Everyone was issued a canvas bag and given access to a bunch of art supplies. We had a little over an hour to make our own bag and the results were varied and fun. It’s always amazing to see the variety of things people can make given an identical set of tools.
The only downside of the evening was when Ellen Lupton had to leave early to catch a train and ended up missing the final presentations. I wonder if maybe next year they could spring for a hotel room or something.
Overall a good time was had by all. I took a few pictures of the other bags made, some great stuff!
